Public speaking can be a nerve-wracking experience for many, often invoking a fear of being vulnerable, exposed, or judged. Interestingly, musicians who perform regularly on stage can leverage their experience to develop strong public speaking skills, transforming what might have been fear into self-assured confidence. These musicians develop what is known as “stage presence,” an awareness of the audience, an ability to engage, and a commanding presence that is both captivating and calming. This stage presence translates remarkably well into professional settings, where confidence, clarity, and charisma are often essential. You gain so much confidence regardless of performing on stage, in front of a small group sitting around a camp fire or social media.
