About a month ago, my daughter and I were deep in one of those “life chats” where she casually drops that she’s turning something personal into a business… no big deal. I won’t spill her secrets because apparently I’ve been placed on a strict NDA (by a young adult), but it got my wheels turning. That’s how this whole thing came to life… welcome to LifePrompts.
Basically, LifePrompts are questions you can ask yourself daily, weekly, monthly… or whenever life feels a little too quiet or a little too loud. And before you panic, this is not homework. No grades. No pressure. Think of it as a creative tool, not another thing on your to-do list that judges you silently.
Now, I’m talking directly to musicians and songwriters here… because let’s be honest, you’re always hunting for ideas. New angles. Something real to pull from. And I genuinely believe this can help. Instead of waiting around for inspiration like it’s running late, you create the conditions for it to show up.
We’ll start with monthly prompts, then layer in weekly ones. These questions will hit different parts of your life… not just music… because your best ideas usually come from outside the guitar.
And yes, before you ask… am I a songwriter? Look, a long time ago I dabbled in poems and short stories. Keyword: dabbled. But part of this journey is me stepping back into that space and actually sharing my work… so you know I’m not just out here making things up like I occasionally tell my mom… long story… don’t worry about it.
If there’s something specific you want me to build prompts around, send it my way. I’ll also drop quick hits in Notes so you’ve got easy access when creativity decides to ghost you.
To get you started, I’ve included 25 prompts. No pressure… just possibilities.
